Hörmann’s 65 year worldwide presence, at the time, extended to North America in 2006 with the purchase of  residential and commercial sectional door manufacturer, GADCO, located in Montgomery, Illinois.  Since then, Hörmann has continued to expand their presence in the North Amercian sectional door and high performance door markets with the purchase of three additional high-profile door manufacturers:  Flexon, Northwest Door, and TNR Industrial Doors.  Now, these manufacturing facilities are known collectively as Hörmann Group North America, and are identified by their city designations:  Hörmann Montgomery IL, Burgettstown PA, Puyallup WA, and Barrie ON Canada.

In 2017, Hörmann expanded the existing high performance door facility in Burgettstown, PA to a total of 220,000 sq. ft. from the 68,000 sq. ft. building it was when phase one construction was completed in 2013.  With office space for administration, sales, technical support and engineering already in place with phase one, the 152,000 sq. ft. 2017 addition included a sizeable investment of state-of-the-art door manufacturing equipment and processes which offered the high performance door market the best lead times available at that time.

Further, in 2020, Hörmann cemented their presence in North America with the construction of an impressive 325,000 sq. ft. North American headquarters located in Sparta, Tennessee.  The Sparta facility includes 300,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space plus 25,000 sq. ft. of office space, training areas and a showroom.  This location also houses the new 4400 Clima Tech residential polyurethane, 440U and 450U PU production lines.  These models are insulated with a controlled, proprietary blend polyurethane that is only available from Hörmann, offering unmatched density and strength as compared to competitive brands.  Sophisticated engineering and state-of-the-art continuous line manufacturing makes it possible to also offer the fastest lead times available, currently less than two weeks.
