Hörmann North America announced in July 2023 they have added the High Performance Polyethylene (HPP) traffic door to their product line as a side-by-side offering for markets such as cold storage, food, and warehousing, that already use high-speed, high-performance doors or sectional commercial doors.  In addition, the HPP traffic door is ideal for supermarkets, restaurants, and hospitals.

Made from heavy-duty, polyethylene PE 500 material, the HPP is impact and crack-resistant, and USDA/FDA/EU compliant.  HPP impact traffic doors are equipped as standard with hinges in AISI 304 stainless steel, and the hinges have a narrow design that enables the widest possible passage width.  Encapsulated with an innovative stainless steel housing to protect it from damage, these zero-rise hinges reduce gaps between the door edge and the lintel, and the spring tension is highly adjustable.  The hinge is available with or without a 90° door position holding device.  Hinges and all other fasteners are stainless steel AISI 304; springs in AISI 301 stainless steel.  Optional AISI 316 hardware is available for heavy washdown and corrosive applications.  The standard model, HPP-180. has the capability of opening 180° (90° in each direction). The optional model, HPP-360, can be opened 360° (180° in each direction) to keep access routes completely clear and may be locked in a total of five positions.

Standard window choices are round and rectangular; square windows are optional.  Other available options include: PE 500 impact profiles, loop bumpers, and stainless steel push profiles.

Stainless steel frames are included and are pre-assembled for easy installation.

HPP doors are impervious to moisture, resistant to acids and alkalis, and meet the most stringent hygiene standards, making them ideal for use in cold temperatures, washdown applications, and food production environments. The manufacturer’s warranty is ten years on the PE 500 panel material and one year on all other components.
