Hormann Opens New Training and Exhibition Center - Largest Product Exhibition of the Company

After just under two years of construction, Hörmann has opened its new training and exhibition center.  The Hörmann Forum, located at the headquarters in Steinhagen, Germany, hosts the largest company product exhibition to date with an area of over 6000 m².  In addition, it provides space for a variety of training and seminar options for Hörmann partners and employees.

Approximately 150 guests, including those involved in construction and the city's mayor, participated in the festivities for the inauguration of the Hörmann Forum on September 25, 2015.  The event was opened by the personally liable partner of the Hörmann Group, Thomas J. Hörmann.  Along with a presentation of the Forum held by architect Andreas Wannenmacher and tours of the newly opened building, the handover of the exterior sculpture in front of the entrance to the Hörmann Forum was one of the highlights of the inauguration.  The sculpture "Grober Kniender" (Large Kneeling Man) is by the well-known German sculptor, Stephan Balkenhol.  The 18'8" high sculpture weighs almost 3 tons and depicts a man kneeling in an erect posture.  "The tension between the monumental scope and the calm act of kneeling is interesting.  The figure exudes both self-assurance and humility," said Martin J. Hörmann, personally liable partner of the Hörmann Group.

The construction of the new training center is Hörmann's response to the increasing demand for product-related training opportunities; the Forum creates a central platform for the company, its products and the Hörmann partners.  On three floors and over 2500 m² of exhibition area, it presents the company's varied product portfolio.  "The Hörmann Forum gives us the opportunity of welcoming and training our international partners in a central location right next to our headquarters," says Christoph Hörmann, personally liable partner of the Hörmann Group.  Well-lit rooms equipped with state of the art technology, offer customers and employees an ideal learning environment for product related training.
